Former Liverpool legend Steve Gerrard has praised Jude Bellingham for his outstanding performance on the pitch against Ukraine.
Gerrard’s praise for Bellingham was due to the young midfielder’s continued excellent play for England, who defeated Ukraine at Wembley by a score of 2-0. Despite his youth, Bellingham played the entire 86 minutes in the 2-0 Euro 2024 qualifier, controlling the midfield.
Big-money clubs Man City and Real Madrid are showing interest in the midfielder, and it’s only a matter of time before we may see him potentially sign for one of the two clubs.
Despite his young age, Bellingham played the entire 86 minutes in the 2-0 Euro 2024 qualifier, controlling the midfield. Manchester City and Real Madrid are showing interest in the midfielder due to his achievements.
Liverpool has also been reported to be showing an interest in signing Bellingham, and their former captain Gerrard has offered to take him to dinner, to get him to sign with the Reds. Bellingham has been hailed as one of football’s most intriguing young players, with a bright future ahead of him.
Bellingham expressed his appreciation for Gerrard in an interview with Channel 4 following the victory. He said: “He could do everything as a midfielder, and he could easily win a game. I’ve mentioned it before, but I’ve always admired him and his play, so it’s a joy to be in this position right now.”
“Listen, let me tell you right now, you’re a lot farther along than I was at your age, let me tell you so,” Gerrard said in response to a question regarding Bellingham’s current skill. “You are undoubtedly moving in the correct direction.”
“Bellingham has a better physique than I did when I was 19 years old,” Gerrard said when asked why he thinks Bellingham is so great. “He’s more physically mature than me since I didn’t have such strength and power till I was maybe 22 or 23 years old. In terms of what he will try and other stuff, he is more certain than I am. That’s the reality; I’m not simply being humble in expressing that. He has progressed more than I have since I was 19 Don’t get me wrong; I succeeded in achieving my goals, and if he keeps acting as he does, he will inevitably succeed in achieving his goals.”, added Gerrard.
Bellingham has so far played 24 games wearing the England jersey, 11 more than Gerrard had for Liverpool by the time he was 19 years old.
He is now a permanent starter for Gareth Southgate after scoring his first goal for his country against Iran in the 2022 World Cup opening match. The midfielder will stay with Dortmund for the remainder of the campaign; Dortmund is presently leading the Bundesliga standings.
In the summer, there will probably be a fight from a few clubs for his move, with Bellingham once more demonstrating his potential to rank among the top players in the world of football.
