Arsenal has criticised a 21-year-old man who was detained by police for shining a laser in the face of Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk and has called his actions “dangerous and utterly irresponsible.”
The individual was detained by police after his actions during Tuesday’s 3-1 victory for the Gunners at Emirates Stadium, according to the Metropolitan Police.
Mudryk, a player for Ukraine, entered the game as a substitution in the 71st minute, and you could see a green glow on his face. “It’s alright,” he later wrote on his Instagram.
Arsenal declared: “We will fully help the authorities in their investigations. This behaviour is hazardous and completely unacceptable.”
During the January transfer window, Mudryk moved from Shakhtar Donetsk to Chelsea in a deal worth up to £89 million, and so far Mudryk has made 14 appearances for the club without scoring.
