Man City boss Pep Guardiola has been named the 2022–2023 Premier League Manager of the Season.
The Spaniard has now won the prize four times after also winning in 2017–18, 2018–19, and 2020–21.
Guardiola led Man City to their third straight Premier League crown. The FA Cup final is this Saturday against Manchester United, and the Champions League final is the following weekend against Inter Milan.
Arsenal held the top spot in the Premier League for 248 days, a record for a team that did not ultimately win the championship. For much of the season, Man City trailed behind Arsenal.
The Citizens experimented and changed their strategy frequently in the first half of the season before settling on a 3-2-4-1 formation, which was captained by the record-breaking scorer Erling Haaland.
With his most recent victory, Guardiola now trails only Sir Alex Ferguson of Manchester United, who has 11 victories ahead to Guardiola’s one.
Since the award’s creation in 1992, only three other managers have taken home multiple victories: Jurgen Klopp twice, Arsene Wenger once, and Jose Mourinho three times.
