Tottenham Hotspur has agreed to pay €20 million for Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli.
Numerous Italian teams have been keeping an eye on Vicario, with Inter once thought to be the first to be able to sign the 26-year-old as their successor for the highly sought-after Andre Onana. However, Spurs managed to act fast enough to try and fight off the competition.
Vicario, who is said to be prepared to come to England this summer, and Tottenham have been said to be finalising their negotiations.
Although Tottenham was looking forward to making part of its squad David Raya from Brentford, Spurs were unwilling to meet the Bees’ £40 million asking price and instead switched their focus to Italian international Vicario.
