Chelsea is set to receive a third offer for Mason Mount from Manchester United that will be for roughly £55 million.
The Old Trafford team will also issue a warning that if the Blues reject the offer, they will end all further negotiations with them. The England international has been estimated to be worth £70 million, which is the price tag Chelsea has put on him.
Since Mount only has a year remaining on his contract and negotiations for an extension have failed, United believes that amount to be “unrealistic”. Chelsea has already turned down both of United’s previous offers of £40 and £50 million for Mount.
United is certain that they want Mount onboard their roster, and it’s believed that negotiating his personal terms is not an issue.
The England international has 195 appearances and 33 goals for Chelsea since his debut in 2019, although he missed the rest of the domestic campaign due to injuries, which resulted in the Blues’ lowest finish in more than 25 years and their 12th-place finish last season.
Mason played a key role in Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Manchester City in the 2021 Champions League final, which they also won with Chelsea. He also helped the Blues win the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup and was a member of England manager Gareth Southgate’s team for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. He has 36 England caps and five goals to his name.
