Declan Rice’s transfer to Arsenal seems to have been almost confirmed by Arsenal presenter Nicole Holliday.
The Gunners are nearing an official announcement for the 24-year-old midfielder in what is expected to be a club record sum that may rise to £105 million, according to an agreement between the player and club. West Ham finally agreed to sell their captain almost two weeks ago after rejecting two offers for their star player.
The players have returned to the club’s training facility in London Colney to prepare for the upcoming season, while Mikel Arteta is now waiting to be able to officially introduce Rice as an Arsenal player before the start of the new season.
The transfer is, nevertheless, nearing its conclusion. Holliday, an Instagram user and Arsenal presenter, has now near enough confirmed Rice’s arrival at Arsenal.
Holliday stated on her Instagram story, “Ok, I’m either going crazy/need an eye exam or I just saw Declan Rice at the airport. I was going to introduce myself because we’ll be working together next season [eyes emoji], but I was too nervous, lol.”
After bringing in the well-known Kai Havertz for £65 million earlier in the window, the Gunners are now awaiting the announcement of Ajax defender Jurrien Timber. With less than a month before the start of the new season, having players ready to practice and work with Arteta as soon as possible will be a significant advantage, and all signs point to Rice sporting the red jersey soon.
