Brighton anticipates Moises Caicedo to remain on the team once the transfer market shuts on September 1.
Following Arsenal’s interest in January, Chelsea made several offers for the midfielder. Amid the interest from a wide number of clubs, the midfielder wanted to leave the Seagulls in January. No team has so far paid Brighton’s asking price, and they do not expect that to change this summer.
Following Alexis MacAllister’s departure for Liverpool, Brighton is confident that they do not need to sell the 21-year-old international from Ecuador Caicedo. That view has been communicated to Caicedo, and Brighton doesn’t think it will be a problem.
Although he wanted to leave the Seagulls in January, Brighton refused to let him go, and Caicedo later agreed to a new deal until 2027.
Chelsea has reportedly turned down proposals of £70 million and £80 million this summer. After placing sixth in the Premier League the previous season, Brighton earned a spot in the Europa League.
