Chelsea have an interest in signing Manchester City and England Under-21s attacker Cole Palmer.
The 21-year-old has had a strong start to the season for City, scoring in the Community Shield defeat against Arsenal and the UEFA Super Cup victory over Sevilla.
Palmer won’t be permitted to go on loan, according to Pep Guardiola, as earlier this summer, West Ham had expressed interest in signing him, although it was believed that their desire was only temporary.
So far, no formal bid has been put forward for the young player. The Blues may aim to add another attacking player during this transfer window, according to manager Mauricio Pochettino, but he maintains that any new additions must match the desired ‘profile’.
Palmer is versatile enough to play in the midfield as well as the front line. He competed for England’s young team, who won this summer’s European Under-21 Championship.
