Chiedozie Ogbene rescued Rotherham United by scoring a crucial goal that earned them a point against Swansea City.

Swansea, who are continuing their poor form took the lead with a precise finish from Joel Piroe, but Ogbene, who has been a long-time target for Swansea, poked the ball home to secure a well-deserved point for Rotherham in a tense contest.

The draw means that Rotherham move six points clear of the bottom three.

It was a decent night’s work for the Yorkshire club, who were playing their second game of the week after securing a win against Sunderland last Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Swansea’s form continues to disappoint, having won only three of their last 18 league games, and some sections of their home crowd booed the team off the pitch.

Despite Rotherham’s long wait for a third away league win of the season, a draw against Swansea was a decent result. Swansea were under pressure to deliver a result, but they failed to do so and stay 15th in the Championship.

The match started with Ogbene’s curling effort hitting the post before Swansea responded with a couple of attempts.

Piroe eventually scored the opener for Swansea with a fine finish, but Rotherham equalized soon after as Ogbene poked the ball into the net.

Swansea had a chance to win the game in the second half, but Piroe headed wide while Rotherham’s Georgie Kelly drove straight at the goalkeeper with his first touch after coming off the bench.
