For Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana, Manchester United and Inter Milan have reached a contract worth up to (€55m) £47.2m.

After many days of negotiations, an agreement was reached that includes an initial payment of €51 million (£43.8 million), plus €4 million (£3.4 million) in prospective add-ons based on player and club success. Onana is expected to join United as soon as possible for their preseason tour of the United States, which runs through July 31.

Erik ten Hag, Onana’s former manager at Dutch club Ajax, is leading the pursuit for the 27-year-old player, while Onana has made it obvious that he intends to transfer to Old Trafford and rejoin him.

Following the failure to reach a new contract agreement with David De Gea, who confirmed his departure on a free transfer earlier this month, United are also looking at possibly signing Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki from Urawa Red Diamonds.
