Red Devils’ forward Anthony Martial will be out on Saturday for the FA Cup final against rivals Man City due to a hamstring injury.

The French international sustained an injury during Sunday’s 2-1 victory against Fulham at Old Trafford. The club said on Tuesday that following medical checks, it was discovered that the 27-year-old had torn a hamstring muscle.

In 21 Premier League games this season, Martial scored six goals and provided two assists in a season tarnished by injuries.

Since winger Antony was carried out on a stretcher while in tears during the 4-1 victory against Chelsea, United was highly concerned about his condition. The 23-year-old Brazilian will “probably” recover from his ankle injury in time for Saturday’s championship game, according to manager Erik ten Hag.

After winning the League Cup in February, a victory for United on Saturday would give the team a domestic double.

With Premier League champions City also competing in the Champions League final next month, a victory for United would also prevent their rivals from obtaining the Triple Crown triumph achieved by Sir Alex Ferguson’s United in 1999.
