Liverpool and RB Leipzig are in discussions about the possible transfer of Dominik Szoboszlai from the German club.
The 22-year-old Hungarian midfielder helped Leipzig win the German Cup and finish third in the Bundesliga last year. Szoboszlai’s representatives and Liverpool, who are trying to strengthen their midfield, have reportedly already met and are engaging in talks of a possible transfer.
Earlier in the week, a transfer seemed doubtful, but it is now a possibility. According to rumours, Szoboszlai has a release clause of about £60 million that expires this Friday.
Szoboszlai played 31 games for Leipzig in the Bundesliga last year and contributed eight assists alongside scoring six goals. This month, Liverpool already strengthened their midfield by signing Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton for £35 million.
With James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain departing the club this summer, Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is keen to strengthen that area of the field.
