“I’ve been waiting for a while to play for Burnley, and I can’t wait to get going.”
Aaron Ramsey, a midfielder for Aston Villa, has signed for Burnley for a sum of over £12 million. 20-year-old Ramsey is Turf Moor’s 13th summer addition after agreeing to a five-year contract.
Ramsey scored in the 3-1 victory over Israel in the final for the England team that won the European Under-19 Championship last year. “Everyone here has immediately welcomed me,” he continued.
“Everyone has been kind, and settling in has been very easy,” Ramsey added.
Between 2021 and 2023, he played four times for the club’s senior team and spent time on loan at Cheltenham, Norwich, and Middlesbrough.
Additionally, the Clarets have completed the signing of ex-Anderlecht defender Hannes Delcroix from Belgium. English Ramsey, an under-20 team member who is the younger brother of Villa midfielder Jacob, spent 12 years at Villa Park after moving up through the youth academy levels.
