Marco Verratti, a legend of Paris Saint-Germain, is about to sign a contract with Al Arabi in Qatar.
Verratti has had in-depth discussions regarding his future with PSG and new manager Luis Enrique and has decided that it is time to call it quits on his illustrious career at Parc des Princes. The Italian has played 416 games in 11 years and has collected 21 honours, including nine Ligue 1 championships.
Clubs from all over Europe were interested in Verratti, with Manchester City, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Atletico Madrid among those keeping an eye on the issue.
Enrique wanted 30-year-old Verratti to remain in Paris, but the player had already made up his mind after growing upset over how his teammates, especially Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, had been treated throughout the summer.
Verratti began out with local club Pescara in Serie B before relocating to France as a teenager in 2012.
