According to rumours, Liverpool is thinking about signing Chelsea’s midfielder Conor Gallagher during this summer’s transfer window.
The 23-year-old, who had a breakthrough season at Crystal Palace the previous year, has been a regular for the Blues this year.
Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has selected the youngster as someone who can improve his team. Given Gallagher’s reputation for all-action performances in the middle of the pitch, it comes as no surprise.
It was frequently questioned if Liverpool could afford to purchase players from Chelsea, particularly one of their outstanding young players, such as Gallagher.
However, when new owner Todd Boehly splashes the cash to restock their team, the Blues may have to sell some of their assets this summer to balance the books. Even if Gallagher is highly regarded by Potter, Chelsea may still approach, according to sources close to the Blues.
As they prepare to make significant changes in the summer, Liverpool had already been connected with Gallagher’s colleague Mason Mount and fellow countryman Jude Bellingham. Newcastle, Crystal Palace, and Everton were all mentioned as potential suitors for Gallagher’s future team during the previous summer. Even as the Toffees tried to recruit the star, a deal reportedly worth £45 million was rejected.
