According to sources, Chelsea is now focusing on acquiring MLS goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic as they pursue a remarkable 14th new signing during the current transfer window.
With Kepa Arrizabalaga departing for Real Madrid, Chelsea is looking for a new number two who can fill in for their new first-choice Robert Sanchez.
Petrovic, a two-time Serbian international, is now bound to the New England Revolution till 2025. During his 40 games for his current club, he has kept 13 clean sheets. The Chelsea scouting staff have kept a close eye on the 23-year-old Serbian while he was with New England Revolution in the United States.
The London team is now reaching the end of finalising the two contracts for Michael Olise and Romeo Lavia, who would be their 12th and 13th summer additions, respectively. This summer, Chelsea has also completed transfers for several additional players, including Moises Caicedo, Christoper Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, and Axel Disasi.
The Blues are also concentrating on adding a goalkeeper, and Petrovic has drawn attention in the last year after a run of impressive performances for New England following his April 2022 transfer from his old Serbian side Cukaricki.
