Due to severe rain in Ahmedabad, the Indian Premier League championship game between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans has been postponed until Monday.
Around 16:30 on Sunday, the rain stopped for a little while, the players appeared to get warmed up, but it quickly started again.
Chennai is attempting to match Mumbai’s record of five IPL championships. Gujarat wants to defend the championship they took home in their first season in 2022.
Gujarat will win the championship if no games are possible to be played on Monday. Gujarat finished first in the league standings with 20 points, three more than Chennai in second place.
Chennai defeated Gujarat in Qualifier 1 to claim the first slot in the final, and Gujarat defeated Mumbai Indians to get the second.
