Rory McIlroy, a Northern Irish four-time major champion, is the newest participant in this year’s Scottish Open at the Renaissance Club.
34-year-old McIlroy stated, “It would be amazing to win at the home of golf. The Scottish supporters have always been really encouraging of me.”
The competition runs from July 13 to July 16 and has a prize value estimated at around £6.5 million.
The Scottish Open will be held in the customary time frame, one week before the Open Championship, which will take place this year at Royal Liverpool.
