Zaman Khan, a Pakistani fast bowler, has joined Derbyshire for the T20 Blast tournament this summer.
The 21-year-old has taken 59 wickets at an average of 23.35 across 49 T20 matches, with the top statistics being 4-16. With Lahore Qalanders, he won the Pakistan Super League twice. With Jaffna Kings, he won the Lanka Premier League.
Khan was referred to as “one of the most brilliant young fast bowlers in Pakistan” by Derbyshire’s cricket director Mickey Arthur. “The fact that he brings success from T20 tournaments around the globe into our locker room will help us achieve our objectives,” said Arthur.
Derbyshire Falcons will take on Lancashire Lightning at home on Saturday to open their T20 Blast season. The opportunity to play in England while working with Mickey Arthur at Derbyshire is a dream come true, according to Khan.
“I’m excited to play with this side and see if we can compete once more this summer since Derbyshire has been successful in T20 cricket over the past several years.”, added Khan.
