After losing to Yanina Wickmayer in the quarterfinals of their doubles match, GB player Heather Watson was eliminated from the Poland Open.
The 31-year-old Watson was defeated by the Belgian 4-6, 3-6, and Wickmayer will now face top seed Iga Swiatek in the semifinals.
Iga Swiatek, a 22-year-old Polish player, upset Linda Noskova, an 18-year-old from the Czech Republic, 6-1, 6-4, to advance to the semifinals, while Siegemund and Maria defeated Lucrezia Stefanini and Rebecca Sramkova in their respective quarterfinals.
Tatjana Maria, a fellow German, lost to Laura Siegemund by a score of 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 in the opening semifinal.
In the doubles semifinals on Friday, Watson and Wickmayer defeated Ankita Raina and Yue Yuan 0-6 7-6 6-10.
